Love is…. Love is…. What is love? You tell it to someone everyday…that you love them. Is love just a word or more than a word? Is it different when you tell someone in your family you love them and when you tell your significant other that you love them? Your parents may yell at you sometimes when you tell them that you love someone at school, and tell you that you have no clue what love is. Love can confuse you to the point where you just want to give up, but you don’t because love is keeping you going. Once a friend told me that if our parents tell us that we don’t know what love is, then how do know we love them. I believe that there is a difference between the love you share with your family and friends and the love that you share with your significant other. The difference between the two is that when you love your family and friends it means that you care deeply for them, and the love you share with you significant other is shared more intimately then with your family and friends. But either way, when you love someone you give someone your heart to bid with, and you give it to anyone to bid with, well anyone you trust with it. When you open your heart to these people, you give these people the power to crush you heart. Your family can crush your heart by abandoning you, and degrading your very existence. Your significant other can crush your heart by cheating or using you. While your family can hurt you greatly if they abandon you, a significant other that hurts has the affect times ten, and it will affect you in so many different ways. A broken heart that is caused from a significant other is a hard thing to fix. It is not a normal heart problem that you can fix just be going to the hospital and seeing a cardiologist. It is a pain you have to fix on your own with time, and even a few good friends. Through this time you will eventually trust someone to have your heart in their grasp, but even though you may trust this person, it does not mean you are not unable to have your heart broken again. Love can come in many forms, but it will come when you know it. It feels like…. It feels like…well you will know what it feels like when you believe you have found it.
